Rare tea service with festoon décor, Wedgwood, Stoke-on-Trent, England, 20th century
Schwarzer Basalt und Montierungen aus silbernem Metall; Ausführung mit gedrückt kugeligen Korpora, umlaufendem erhabenem Feston- und floralem Rankendekor auf schmalem Standring, J-Henkeln und Öffnungsrändern mit silberfarbenem Metall, innen lasiert; 3-teiliges Konvolut bestehend aus: Zuckerschale mit beidseitigen Henkeln (Höhe: ca. 6,9 cm), Rahmgießer (Höhe: ca. 5,8 cm) und Teekanne mit abklappbarem Deckel und gedrückt kugeliger Handhabe (Höhe: ca. 9,6 cm); seitlich am Teedeckelrand ungedeuteter Stempel „AJR“ im Kleeblattschild, unterseitig mit Firmen- und Blindstempel versehen; minimale altersbedingte Gebrauchsspuren, Oxidation unter der leicht gelösten Montierung der Kanne; Gesamtgewicht: ca. 833 g.
Black basalt and silver-coloured metal mounts; design with compressed spherical bodies, continuous raised festoon and floral vine décor on a narrow ring foot, J-handles and rims mounted with silver-coloured metal, glazed interior; 3-piece set comprising: sugar bowl with double handles (height: approx. 6.9 cm), cream jug (height: approx. 5.8 cm) and teapot with hinged lid and compressed spherical finial (height: approx. 9.6 cm); on the side of the teapot lid an unidentified mark “AJR” in a cloverleaf shield, underside with maker’s mark and blind stamp; minimal age-related signs of wear, oxidation beneath the slightly loosened mount of the teapot; total weight: approx. 833 g.
835/- and 925/- silver (one vase filled); total weight: ca. 286 g; 1) small vase with club-shaped body on oval base, side-mounted long narrow handle and obliquely set spout; side stamped with maker’s mark Hermann Bauer and fineness mark “925”; filler visible at side of base; height: ca. 17.6 cm. 2) small vase with pear-shaped body on stepped oval base with side-mounted narrow handle and oval spout; underside stamped with crescent moon and crown, maker’s mark Gottlieb Kurz and fineness mark “835”; interior of spout with localised discolouration; height: ca. 14.5 cm. Both pieces with age-related signs of wear.
925/- silver and plated (both filled); total weight: ca. 357 g; 1) wide candlestick with flared nozzle and tapered shaft on convex quatrefoil base with circumferential fluting; side stamped with crescent moon and crown, maker’s mark and fineness mark; height: ca. 6.6 cm. 2) vase with club-shaped body, tapered shaft on square base with circumferential beaded border decoration; several surface scratches; plated; height: ca. 18.8 cm. Both pieces with age-related signs of wear.
