Antique milk jug, jeweller Kühn, Hamburg, Germany, 1829-1854
Silberlegierung; Milchgießer mit kugelig gedrückter Wandung mit umlaufend feiner floraler Ziselierung auf der Schulter, stark ausgestelltem Lippenrand und hoch angesetztem plastischem Volutenhenkel auf vier ausgestellten Volutenfüßen; innen Restvergoldung; altersbedingte Gebrauchsspuren und Oxidationsrückstände sowie feine Delle von ca. 1,2 cm; unterseitig gestempelt mit Hamburger Stadtmarke und Buchstaben „C“ sowie Juwelierstempel I. F. Kühn; Höhe: ca. 14,4 cm.
Silver alloy; milk jug with bulbously pressed body featuring encircling fine floral chasing to the shoulder, strongly flared pouring rim and a high-set sculptural volute handle, standing on four splayed volute feet; remains of interior gilding; age-related signs of use and oxidation residues as well as a fine dent of approx. 1.2 cm; underside stamped with Hamburg city mark and letter “C” as well as the jeweller’s mark I. F. Kühn; height: approx. 14.4 cm.
