Pair of rare neoclassical candlesticks, Esajas Carl Hoffman (active 1781 to 1813), Berlin, circa 1800
Silberlegierung (Mindestfeingehalt 12 Lot), nicht gefüllt; Gesamtgewicht: ca. 548 g; Paar seltene Leuchter mit gekantetem Konusschaft auf Trompetenstand mit Akanthusblattdekor auf quadratischer Plinthe, eingezogener Nodus, glockenförmig eingezogenes Ornamentalelement zwischen Schaft und Tülle, abnehmbare Tülle mit Tremulierstrich und preußischem Repunzierungsstempel versehen; beide Leuchter seitlich am Stand mit Berliner Stadtmarke mit verschlagenem Buchstaben (s. Abbildung), preußischem Repunzierungsstempel „FW“, Meistermarke „ECH“ und Tremulierstrich versehen; Höhe: ca. 23,3 cm; altersbedingte Gebrauchsspuren, Oxidationsrückstände sowie Kerben und ein Riss an einem Nodus.
Silver alloy (minimum fineness 12 lot, approx. 750/1000), not filled; total weight: approx. 548 g; pair of rare candlesticks with facetted conical shaft on trumpet base with acanthus leaf decoration on a square plinth, recessed knop, bell-shaped recessed ornamental element between shaft and nozzle, removable nozzle with tremolier mark and Prussian repunching mark; both candlesticks laterally on the base with Berlin town mark with obliterated letter (see illustration), Prussian repunching mark “FW,” maker’s mark “ECH” and tremolier mark; height: approx. 23,3 cm; age-related signs of wear, oxidation residues as well as dents and a crack to one knop.
Silver-plated; total weight: approx. 1191 g; jardinière with bulbous oval-shaped wall on four claw feet and, laterally, two handles each in the form of a lion’s head holding a ring in its mouth; festoons with fruit decoration, vertically aligned foot elements with ornamental decoration, handles and foot elements stamped and soldered; semi-ovoid cobalt-blue glass liner; age-related signs of wear and oxidation residues; height: approx. 15.2 cm.
Chinese porcelain with an all-around fine, even sang-de-boeuf glaze, showing only a few darker glaze spots; baluster-shaped body; wooden base and lid with carved openwork ornamentation, early 20th century; height of baluster form: approx. 28 cm; total height with base and lid: approx. 37.5 cm; one vessel with a very fine hairline crack running from the rim to the middle of the wall.
Dark-patinated bronze; on a stepped rectangular plinth, the four-armed figure stands in a dancing pose on a raised oval lotus base, with two hands in “Anjali Mudra” gesture; height: approx. 43.5 cm; weight: approx. 7 kg.
Iron; antique teapot with cylindrical body, short slightly curved spout, detachable lid and double-sided movable trefoil handle; body with two large rectangular cartouches applied with décor in the form of a flowering branch, lid finial in the same décor; age-related signs of wear and corrosion damage; height: approx. 25.8 cm; weight: approx. 2.45 kg.
